Series on the big screen – we already know the program of BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon 2024!

We have great news for all fans of series thrills: the schedule and list of series screened during BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon 2024 have been announced! The sale of passes and tickets on the festival website has also started – we advise you not to wait until the last minute to not miss the hottest premieres and shows – we have prepared a lot of surprises for you!


The programme of BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon will include screenings of nearly 50 series, including 10 that take part in the first Best Polish TV Series of the Year 2024 Competition – the awards will be granted in 8 competition categories. Nearly 40 Polish and international productions will be screened in 5 thematic sections. There will also be premiere and pre-premiere screenings, as well as special screenings. In addition, the festival schedule also includes: industry meetings SerialCon Industry, panels, discussions, Q&A with the creators and stars of individual series and a Series Village in front of and in Pałac Kultury i Nauki.

During Warsaw by night, of which Stołeczna Estrada is a partner, we will be able to watch: The King of Warsaw, Blinded by The Lights, Barbara and Jan, The Artists and 07 respond. We will consider what attracts audiences to the capital’s landscape from the very first domestic episodic production to contemporary series. We will also discuss during panels: Young comedy/I am a meme, Dream of Warsaw and For everyone, or for whom?.

Polonica, of which Stołeczna Estrada is a partner, will show us Polish productions that are storming the lists of streaming services, but also those that have changed beyond recognition the view of series production in Poland, including: Warszawianka (also known as Still Here), The Office PL, A Simple Matter, Pitbull or Go Ahead, Brother. We will also talk about the permanent director-operator teams, special effects, locations, and genre series in Poland.

In the Outside the Box section, of which BNP Paribas Bank is a partner, viewers will be able to see bold productions that tackle difficult subjects and escape the conventions and boundaries imposed by the aesthetics of the modern world. We will see: The Kingdom Exodus, The Following Events Are Based on a Pack of Lies, Mothers of Penguins and Families Like Ours, a work that is the first fully original series from Thomas Vinterberg, the Oscar-nominated director of Festen, Another Round and The Hunt. They will be accompanied by a panel debate: Polish diversity and More sex? NOT.

Multiverse will present us with productions from the borderline of different branches of popular culture, such as: The Last of Us, Penguin, The Franchise, Paris Has Fallen, or Halo starting a discussion on topics such as toxic fandom, the identity crisis of streaming services, or the role of the series in creating the world depicted in first-person games.

The Retro section is dedicated to both historical productions and much-loved nostalgia. It will look at how classic series are echoed in new productions. In this section we will see, among others: 1923, Poker Face, Seven Wishes, Alternative Str. 4 and Chernobyl. On the occasion of the screenings, we will discuss during panels: Repeat entertainment and The art of clothing.

We have also prepared for you special screenings and premieres of Polish and foreign titles that will be distributed in a few or several weeks. During the festival you will be able to see the premieres of: Sleboda – a SkyShowtime original series and Black Daisies – a Canal+ series, as well as within the framework of special and pre-premiere screenings episodes of: X-Rated Queen, Hounds Hill, Education XD, A Moment of Silence (season 2), Hostages, Stroke, The Day of the Jackal, Scar and Families Like Ours. It will also be a unique opportunity to see the series stars live, meet the creators behind some of Poland’s most quality productions and listen to fascinating pre-premiere discussions, as well as take part in Q&A sessions.

To meet the needs of the creative industry, BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon is launching a new, prestigious Awards for the domestic serial industry. During the first edition of the competition, an international, independent jury, consisting of representatives of the creative industry, will award prizes in 8 categories: Best Polish TV Series of the Year 2024, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Casting Director, Best Screenplay, as well as Tomorrow’s Icon, intended for creative people who do not hesitate to use risky and original solutions, never seen before. In addition, an Audience Award will be given out as a result of a vote by the audience.

The competition screenings will be announced on 22 November, the line-up of guests and stars during the panels at the beginning of next week, while the detailed programme of the Series Village in Pałac Kultury i Nauki and the free of charge meetings with filmmakers and stars will be presented soon.
