MARATHON The Kingdom Exodus (ep. 1-5)

Lars von Trier goes back the source. When first embarking on a “Kingdom” journey in the 90’s – a miniseries made for Danish TV – he planned it as a three-parter. However the production was held back after two series, and the final rendition seemed to be doomed and buried. Therefore, an effort to bring it all back after such a long time is a TV first class event. In “The Kingdom: Exodus”, 25 years later, we go back to the haunted Copenhagen hospital, and – as it turns out – not much has changed since. Karen the sleep-walker joins forces with the hospital staff in order to defeat the forces of Hell, while doctor Helmers’ son follows father’s footsteps, and a secret order of Swedes Anonymous keeps plotting in the hospital basement.
