MARATHON The King of Warsaw (ep. 1-8)

The specter of fascism hangs over Europe. The city is shaken by a Jewish gang led by a Polish socialist, Kum Kaplica (Arkadiusz Jakubik). The leader is a boxer, Jakub Szapiro (Michał Żurawski) – the object of admiration of Warsaw women and a source of jealousy and fear for many men.  

Jakub secretly dreams of replacing Kum and becoming the king of Warsaw one day. One day, he takes care of a young boy, Mosze Bernsztajn, in whom he sees his successor. Meanwhile, a conspiracy at the top of power may change the face of Warsaw and the entire country, affecting Kum’s gangster empire, as well as the future of Szapiro himself. Entangled in complicated relationships with three women, Jakub will soon face a decisive fight for power on the streets of the city.
