MARATHON The Artists (ep. 1-8)

Marcin Konieczny (Marcin Czarnik),a talented small-town director, gets a chance to helm a big theater company located in Warsaw. Full of ambition and excitement, Marcin quickly clashes with a harsh reality of an institution dealing with financial and organisational issues. He must also face an unruly artistic troupe, who often disregard his fresh ideas. “The Artists” present us with a wider landscape and an outlook on theater life, relationships between actors, artistic conflicts and an influence that world of politics holds over cultural institutions in Poland. This is the story of how difficult decisions and hard earn compromises shape the “theater experience”.
