Black Daisies (ep. 1, 2)

After a sudden return to her hometown of Wałbrzych city, Lena (Karolina Kominek), an eccentric geologist, must face the greatest fear a parent can experience. Her teenage daughter, with whom she has not been able to maintain contact for years, disappears along with a group of children from the kindergarten she was taking care of. The trail leads to the underground world of abandoned tunnels and to the city’s past, dating back to World War II. Together with a policeman named Rafał (Dawid Ogrodnik), her childhood friend, Lena discovers a chilling connection between the disappearance of the children and the activities of a local philanthropist (Edyta Olszówka). The mysterious visions of the main character may turn out to be the key to solving the case. 

The series directed by Mariusz Palej, with a script created based on the concept by Dominika Prejdová and Agnieszka Szpila, was distinguished in Cannes by Variety magazine.
